Morelli Take Over Eyebox Training and Conference Centre

In 2015, Morelli Group entered into a collaboration with Rob Ally of XL Motors in Coventry to take a share of his lovely new site to run as our training centre alongside Rob’s smart repair and specialist bodyshop facility. The centre was named Eyebox by Rob as it also had a conference facility that he marketed externally. Located in Coventry just off Junction 3 of the M6, Eyebox is ideally located for meetings of people from all over the country.

Morelli obtained IMI Accreditation for our training courses and the centre at Eyebox and the collaboration has been extremely successful. We run a vast array of courses throughout the year, offering IMI Accreditations in Senior Paint, Paint, Cosmetic and Re-Accreditations, as well as IMI Professional Achievement Certificate courses in Scuff and Scratch, Alloy Wheel Repair, Glass Repair, PDR and also Valeting with our sister company Slim’s Detailing.

As the skills gap widens and recruitment into our industry is at critically low levels, this Training Centre has become a more vital part of Morelli’s core offering. We now run apprentice academies for group customers and bespoke courses throughout the year and the demand is growing.

We are delighted to announce that we will be taking over the entire premises from April 2023. During April and May the Centre will undergo some changes and we will be launching the new Eyebox Training and Conference Centre in June.

Eyebox will have two main areas – the Technical Centre and the Conference Centre.  

The Technical Centre 

5 state of the art spraybooths and 12-16 flexible work bays make up the Technical Centre. They can be configured to accommodate different layouts depending on the type of course being offered. We will have the ability to run multiple courses at once and we hope to be able to announce some exciting partnerships with some of our key suppliers who are keen to share this centre of excellence with us. We can accommodate diverse requirements from smart repair to EV training to more specialised and niche courses.

The Technical Centre will also continue to host some of the IMI World Skills events that we have long been associated with. We have recently expanded our Technical Training Team, welcoming Jason Evans who has had nearly 30 years of experience working with high-end vehicles and who is excited by this change in career direction to become part of our permanent team at Eyebox. 

The Conference Centre

We will have 6 refurbished meeting rooms, able to accommodate 4 to 50 people, giving us the ability to host multiple meetings concurrently. Each room will have full AV facilities with wifi and can be configured to suit each hosts requirements. A fully automated booking system will make reserving rooms etc. a cinch. The entire centre will also be available for hire for larger events such as trade show or network meetings. 

There will also be The Hub, an open meeting space for ad-hoc meetings, coffee chats and hot desks for remote working. We want this to be a lively space for our industry colleagues to be able to drop in if they are in the area or plan informal meetings. There will be fulltime catering facilities with a daily menu for lunch as well as a full menu for pre-ordered conference catering as well as onsite administration staff to ensure that all client needs are met.

Morelli Group are delighted to have secured this amazing facility to provide state of the art training and technical solutions for our industry and to allow us to collaborate with our suppliers and customers to upskill and develop the talent we have and to bring in new blood.
