Morelli Group Supply Richard Hammond’s The Smallest Cog
Morelli Group agree supply to Richard Hammond’s Workshop - The Smallest Cog
Morelli are now supplying The Smallest Cog Workshop, the restoration business started by Richard Hammond. Hammond, along with three members of the Greenhouse family and an apprentice, make up the current team of five staff. Richard highlights his grandfather as a big influence on his love of motoring, having worked for Mulliners in Birmingham - a similar business to our founder Slim Moring who worked at Harold Radford in London in the 1950’s before opening his own Bodyshop, then Morelli & Co in 1957.
Richard is pictured here with Nigel Calnan, National Account Manager for Morelli Group.
The business has been the home for two seasons of Richard Hammond’s Workshop on Discovery+ highlighting the restoration business, based just outside Hereford, and how it impacts on the day-to-day life of Richard and his family.
The business is a passion project for Richard and he has sold his own personal car collection to fund the building and equipment in the workshop including booths and lifts. There are plans to put Richard through some of Morelli’s IMI Accredited training for paint, and even possibly a detailing course with Slim's Detailing if he can find time around the business of restoring cars.
“I have worked on many cars during filming on shows but I wanted to do some proper restoration work and build a business to be proud of. I am looking forward to learning and hope to be painting cars with the help of some training from Morelli.”
Nigel Calnan, Morelli, says:
“We have only just started our supply to The Smallest Cog but we have already discussed so much as Richard is so passionate about not only restoring cars but also about making the business successful. We want to be part of the journey and have offered training and our support services to help where possible."
We look forward to our partnership going forward with Richard Hammond and the team behind The Smallest Cog.
