The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2023
Morelli Group are delighted to have been placed in the inaugural “The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2023”, powered by The Sunday Times data partner WorkL.
The Sunday Times said about Morelli Group:
“The “being Morelli” training programme is tailored to younger employees at this automotive paint distributor, providing the skills they need to rise through the ranks and become a Morelli manager. Staff can work from home where possible and cycle to work schemes provide them with cost-effective access to bicycles. Team camaraderie is encouraged at Morelli mornings, a daily breakfast paid for by the company.”
The Sunday Times have been setting the standard in creating prestigious award schemes that celebrate and reward best practice in a variety of disciplines. They have several esteemed award schemes, including The Sunday Times Best Places to Work which we were invited to enter Morelli into for 2023.
We followed the engagement criteria set by The Sunday Times and our staff responded to the online survey sent to them, answering the questions, and returning a very encouraging set of results placing us in the leading places to work Medium Business category. 89% of the staff who completed the form expressed happiness and that they felt safe at Morelli and 90% reflected that they have good mental wellbeing from their employment. This compared to an industry average of 61%.
Rob Cohen, Financial Director, says,
“When we were approached by the Sunday Times to enter this year’s Best Places to Work company survey, we agreed that it would be a good opportunity for our staff to feedback anonymously about the environment they work in and for us to analyse the results and look at ways we can improve as an employer. We had a 76% response rate and the results have given us a great insight into the thoughts of our staff.”
Andrew Moring, Marketing Director, says,
“As a family business entering our 66th year, with 4th generation family members in the business, it is important for us that our staff feel valued and happy at work. We continue to have staff passing 25 years’ service with our oldest serving member of staff well past the 40-year mark. We want this to continue for years to come and The Sunday Times gave us the chance to gather feedback from our staff with the bonus of making it into the top companies in the UK to work at.”
