Morelli Group sponsor IMI Skills Competitions for 11th Consecutive Year

The IMI held their national finals for the World Skills UK competitions 14-18th November at the Cardiff & Vale College. The final is the culmination of some incredibly tough qualifying events that have taken place to select the best to compete for the top places. The four streams of competition are Automotive Technology, Body Repair, Refinishing and Heavy Vehicle Technology.

Andrew Moring, Marketing Director Morelli Group said “We have been supporting these skills events since 2011 to highlight the great industry we supply and to encourage young people to consider it as a career. It is great to see the competitors challenge themselves under pressure in national and international events. I am always grateful for all our suppliers who give products generously when asked to support, so that they can ultimately take place. 3M, Glasurit and Sata have been supplying products for the competitions for many years and this year I asked Stellantis if they could supply wings, bonnets and bumpers and with the help of their local Distrigo parts supplier CEM Days they came through with a very generous donation of 30 panels to make sure the competitors were working on the best parts.”

Richard Hutchins Competition Manager for the IMI said “We were delighted to receive this support at what is such a challenging time for everybody. The generosity of Stellantis and Day’s Motor Group to pull together and provide these parts for the students was great for them all to see and for them to work on quality parts.”

The finals took place at Cardiff & Vale College 14-18th November.
